I understand Houdini licenses are node locked.
I acquired a houdini indie license. I use it on a computer at my work place.

My question is : Is there a way for me to use the same license at home ?

I read on FAQ that you can connect to a “remote” hserver , but does it need to be on the same local network ?

I'm no authority on the subject, but I think not… I tried contacting SideFX for help on similar issues to this and they weren't super clear on the matter either.

My experience is that your key needs to be installed on the computer you are using it on. So each computer needs its own license server with its own unique key(s) attached. You can't serve licenses via the network (whether it's local or remote). I've tried that myself - since it made the most sense to me in terms of maintaining your own network of PCs - but apparently this is not possible with Indie license as they are node locked and although you can release the key from a PC there is a limit to how many times you can do that meaning it's not practical in your case.
