Hi,

I understand Indie has restrictions with external renderers, I was surprised to find Wren was not active, it's internal? I could be getting this wrong by i run a wren render I get the error
command Exit code: 1
Unknown command: Limted_commical_ifd
I was playing around with toon shading and wren is the the method suggested to do the outlines. Does anyone have another suggestion/workaround or is there a chance SESI is going to change this restriction?

Cheers

I'm with you on this no external renderer restriction, I've been watching the octane plugin development and it really makes me sad that won't be an option since I can't afford a full houdini license.

I think mantra is a wonderful renderer because of its power but it also has a huge learning curve and also no GPU rendering abilities. Being able to use what you are comfortable with could attract a lot of new users.

Frankly I think its a bit short sighted of SESI.

This should be working in 14.0.

Are you using an old version of 13.0? Older versions of 13.0 (before Jan 2015) could have this problem. It should be working in 13.0.657 and up.

Ah, looks like I was around about “since beginning of 14.0”. The fix was actually in 14.0.231. Could you try updating to a newer version?
