Same here! Also when render to disk, it says “Unable to write to disk”

Throwing darts here…I think H18 and Karma need their own separate license installed; Maybe only H18 has been installed in this case?

Known issue. We're working on it.

Should be fixed in our first daily of H18.

Is there an estimate on when this build will be available? I really like to use the new context but as I can´t elevate .hipnc files after the fact it is kind of a showstoper.

No ETA and I do stop working with Solaris too, waiting for the daily build :/

With Houdini Indie there is a watermak on renders is it normal ?

No droping back to NC on my side anymore, did not test the rendering yet.

Same here.

If the bug has been fixed and your still getting the watermark - probably because you saved the file as is(before bug fix), that converts the file to NC. So even with the bug fix the file remains as NC. If you have alot of ‘important’ work in that file that was converted to NC, support might be able to give you a link to convert the file back - Otherwise start with a new LC file.

@rokandic and @BabaJ this is a known bug. I am currently looking into this.

On 18.5 I have the same issue, whenever I try to render with Karma, Houdini falls back to Non-Commercial state

I just got burned on this issue today in 18.5.351 & 18.5.563. File got converted to NC on save. Aside from submitting a support ticket to convert the file back to LC, how do I get my work back? I need to make delivery today of work I've done.

Other than contacting support, all you can do is open a previous save.

Which only has any of the work I did before jumping into Solaris. SMH. Well, I got burned pretty good on this one but now I know. I take the blame for doing anything important in essentially beta tools. That's on me. Going to steer clear of Solaris and Karma until SFX gives the official nod that it's actually production ready in its entirety.

Walks away mumbling and grunting....that's what I get for getting excited at the shiny things lol.
