At the beginning of tut 6 in the Load Layout and FX USD Files section Sean says:

If you scrub you should now see the entire scene with the FX layer. If you bypass the fx node, the fx animation should disappear and be replaced by the layout.

I still get the same animation of the same ‘prims’ whether the fx node is bypassed or not - or even disconnected.

However in the following section he gets you to try ‘muting’ the file the fx node is referring too in the Scene Graph Layers Panel, which works in this case.

I suspect there is a problem in tut 5 with the how the user is told to set up the Configure Layer node down to the sublayer node and USD Rop node?

I've gone over tut 5 a few times and haven't spotted any differences.

The pic is of tut 6 showing what is being brought in.
