Guide For Exporter Writers https://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1106 [www.indigorenderer.com]
There are many of us on the Forum both on Indogo Renderer's site and Houdini asking for a plugin.
Example: https://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1106 [www.indigorenderer.com]
I think it's beneficial to both SideFX company and Indigo customers to have the bridge. Indigo Renderer has been long standing, shown to be production ready, can expand and showcase creative potential of Houdini to all long standing/years of Indigo customers.
Thank you for your consideration.

taking into consideration current direction of the industry it may be more beneficial for indigo to create hydra delegate so that you can use it in LOPs directly or with much less effort than developping bridge from scratch and having to support all necessary features for production use

I'm a bit confused by this post. Isn't Indigo primarily responsible for porting their render engine to Houdini? SideFX provides all of the necessary SDK for 3rd party developers already.
I don't know anything about Indigo, but aside from an OpenCL GPU renderer I am not sure I understand the advantages of this particular render engine. In addition, it seems kinda pricey for being the late to the party. Both Octane and Redshift are less expensive.
I guess the more the merrier, but I still think it's up to the Indigo devs to make the bridge to Houdini and not the other way around.

For a commercial renderer? Yeah…no.
Rather, I'd love to see an open-source port of Cycles or EEVEE for Houdini, that would be kinda cool!

That doesn't even make sense. You mean it would be cool if the Houdini viewport had more of the useful features and performance of Blenders viewport.

No, I mean that I would like to be able to use Cycles and EEVEE as a 3rd party renderers in Houdini. I wouldn't expect the Houdini viewport to behave any differently than it does now unfortunately.
P.S.
Yes, you can use EEVEE for actual offline rendering in Blender.

haha. Great renderer. Just like maxwell. I made this image in 2008 in Maya and rendered with Indigo: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IxhVbBMdBn8/V64yx3VoHOI/AAAAAAAAAdc/EfahyPWfP2I1opeuAJVb1q83JDjYt9WNgCLcB/s640/6.png [1.bp.blogspot.com]
