I'm looking to achieve this effect:

I went through lots of videos and forum posts online, but I get something like this at best:

which is mostly like an explosion.

I was wondering what your approach would be?

I am using a poly extruded font as a Flipsource and a Metaball for the force.

I did a bit of experience with POP Fluid, but they don't stick together either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Inspired by this thread [forums.odforce.net] and grandmasters such as Pazuzu(Alejandro Echeverry), Rayman(Pavel), and Karl Richter, I managed to achieve this result:

I will still be working on it to get a closer look/feel towards the reference.

So how did you do it?

In the end, a simple flip with Karl's SOP Solver piped to its post-solve input did the job.
You can find his sample file in this link [forums.odforce.net].
