Edit: Are plugins allowed? Like simple tree tools and Modeler?
I will have to get back to you about Modeler because it will make it harder for us to evaluate your scene files if we dont' have it installed.
Hi Robert. I also would like to know. Would you confirm whether or not we are allowed to use Modeler 2025 for the competition. Thanks.

Are participants allowed to use external apps like Substance Painter for texturing and ZBrush for sculpting? I thought I'd ask since these are commonly used in a gaming pipeline. I've both sculpted and textured all in Houdini but it's still lacking compared to the alternative.

Taking my day 3 Architecture entry to have it partially collapse. I'm getting some strange floating RBD pieces as well as what looks like walking sticks. No time to troubleshoot. This will have to do. Textures and stone block are GSG. Rendered in Karma.

Keeping it simple. Built in Electra character rig doing a high jump. Cushion is taken from the lounge chair GSG model.

Revolver and cyc model are GSG. Background texture and base metal materials are also GSG. These were blended with various masks created using a mixture of COPS and the Labs texture baker. Skull texture is taken from the awesome COPS mega file from the content library. A goldmine of info!

Tiled stone material. I'm using three different GSG materials and combining them using COPS to create the various tiles.

I'm using the built in shader ball to check my wood material. I wish I knew it was there sooner! Cyc model, grid texture, and HDRI are GSG. One down, eleven more days to complete before the April 7 deadline to qualify for the Iron Heart.

Using pyro for some underwater bubbles. Super fun!
GSG hdri used for lighting and background. Added a black blocker and a visible area light to affect the reflections/refractions of the material to punch it up a bit.
Surprisingly I'm on time for a second day in a row. I need to be mindful of time for the next. I only had two entries total that were on time. :/ On a positive note, as my first deep dive into Houdini, I learned a ton. Looking forward to the next!
