thanks for your reply and sorry for the late… I've just read, the system has no notified me of the new message.
I've seen the Entagma video (fabulous as always, but I got lost into the Python part. I don't understand how I could applicate it to the UV view for exporting the map as .svg instead of an image file. I've tried a few ways using the demo file .hip, but without any result…

Hi to all, I'd like to save my UV layout directly in a vectorial format (.ai,.eps, or .svg) inside Houdini.
Is there a shorter way instead of exporting it in .obj or .fbx and make it in another application (3D or other)? Any idea?

Hi to all, given that I have very little experience with VEX and nothing with Python …
I'm trying in every way to modify the Range in the Parameter Interface with a specific dynamic datum.
I would like the maximum value to be insertable on the result of an “if … else” expression that I have into my network.
Is it possible to create this control type?

I've just got the same problem a few minutes ago, after saving a new desktop. Have you tried a solution?
Did you do the same and/or have other version installed. In this case, you could try to run another one, check if you see the last desktop install and delete it…
In my case it has worked…

Thanks a lot CYTE, this is just what I was looking for. I've tried really a lot of solutions, the Spare Input too, but in truth, I had not understood well that SOP. Now it's more clear.

Hi to all,
probably it's a silly question, but it's driving me mad.
I'd have a simple scene with a Box copied to point generate from a Pop Solver. The copies have been processed by a Mountain SOP in order to generate different deformation.
What I looking for is to keep the shape obtained on the first frame for the whole animation, while keeping the movement generated from the emitter. I keep having the shape-changing every frame whatever trying I did…

Hi @Aslak K-S, sorry for late, I've read only now you reply. You're right; I was trying to add the creaseweight attribute on point, but it seems to work only with vertex or edges. Anyway it work for my aim. Thanks a lot.

Hi to all, I'd need help, a silly thing is driving me mad.
I' quite a Houdini newbie and I'm not able to manage the point weight. I'd need to have different result subdividing a poly with different point's weights.
As a Lightwave user I think to assign different values to a weight map, but any my attempt to do it in Houdini has fault (attributecreate, point vop etc, crease)
No solution on the net…
Basically it should be simple… inside Lightwave I have to select the point (2 in the cube example) and the modify the weight. Subdivision will be different for the to points (set to 100, there is no subdivision).
Quite sure that there is a simple solution in Houdini too… but which?

SOLVED
Hi,solved uninstalling all versions and reinstalling them. On more, another error was that I had not edited the .env file. I followed the installation steps from the Redshift’s site chocolates tutorial and, I think,it miss that step.

Hi to all,
probably is a silly question.
I've just upgrade from 17.5 Apprendice to 17.5 Indie, but after licensing I've understood that Redshift demo seems doesn't work with 17.5.
So I have to use it with 17.0 to test Redshift Demo, but I can'find RS in it, althought the installation doesn't show any warning.
Same for older versions like 16.5 or 16… and it's driving me mad.
Althought all the different version (16.0, 16.5, 17.0 and 17.5) run as Indie, the Houdini Licence Administrator tool shows only the 17.5 registered as Indie. The 17.0 is showed as Apprentice and the 16.o and 16.5 don'appear at all!
Anyone could tell me if different version like 17.0 and 16.5 could run under the same Indie licence? I've not found anything on the net and I've already tried a lot of different attemp, reinstalling the different versions too.

Yes, it works properly (in my system) with v.17.

It's necessary to exit the Sonic Studio, which has an icon on the system tray to avoid conflicts.

Hi, same problems… Houdini 17.0.416-win64-vc141, crashes after 30s/1 min.
No way to resolve it with drivers update and/or reinstalling Houdini.
My sistem:
WIN 10 Home - 1703 15063-413 -
INTEL i7 6820HK 2,70 GHz
64 Gb RAM
nvidia GForce GTX 980
