There is a minor bug in latest VAT Plugin (18.5.538) that prevents the Mat Instance Scripted Action from working ... The Mat Instance Scripted Action Blueprint is hardcoded to always use a Rowname of "Soft", while the VAT Exporter correctly sets it to "Rigid". Changing to Rigid to fixes it.

The latest release includes a ViewportIPR in addition to the Redshift RenderView and MPlay IPR....

Jeremy KendallSo the Scripted actions are defined in the SideFX_Utilities_BP and this relies on the DataPrep plugin.
Hey Mike has there been a tools update for UE4.26? The current Vat script tools that convert the Jason File over to a working material is no longer showing up. The Script tool to convert the texture settings over does show up but does not apply settings. Thanks Jeremy
Make sure the DataPrep (experiemental) plugin is enabled.

VAT stuff is amazing!
But is there any solution for the initial offset? I am fracturing the pieces on demand and want the leftover mesh to not have seams.
What is the root cause the initial offset?

Yeah, anything based on NanoDB seems really fast ( the new GPU Pyro Sim and something like the Axiom Solver stuff).
Combined with Redshift rendering and its pretty potent...

Mainly just wanted to make sure KineFX works in licensed version...
Gonna keep evaluating... but thought I would ask.. do you like RedShift?
Is it worth buying?
Do you recommend RedShift over Octane?
Cant afford both :-(

Redshift 3.0.36 demo not working with KineFX in Houdini 18.5.462.
This sounds strange, but if I enable the Redshift demo plugin in Houdini.env, then the kinefx module no longer loads. In addition, the SideFX Tools shelf does not appear (other than Update).
Removing the plugin from Houdini .env restores KineFX and SideFX Tools.
I posted in RedShift forums as well....
For Redshift users, using RedShift with 18.5, do you see the KineFX stuff? - just right click inside a geo at the SOP level and see if KineFX menu is there:

Trying out the demo before buying and stumbled onto this issue

I am sure this is a known issue - but the internal help browser is very slow and often unresponsive.
I have been using external help just fine...

From the VAT 2.1 release notes “Shader logic has been changed for rigid exports that ensure better precision during playback. This does have an undesirable impact on the start frame because of precision issues with vertex colours being used for the centroids.” Does this imply legacy textures are not compatible and we should re-record and export to use with new Vat 2.1 Material?
(Legacy being pos and rotation textures exported with earlier versions of VAT)

Learning Pose Tool - I really like the “auto IK” and works great for any bones I create in houdini.
But it doesn't work with an imported FBX - I think because Houdini automatically inserts nulls between the bones when importing the fbx.

I thought I had baked all hdas in the packaged map…and still got error.
Deleted plugin entirely… and still got error…
But it's working now - I think I was inadvertently packaging all maps (some other maps still had hdas referenced)

I disabled Houdini plugin in project but still get:
