SideFx should fix this electra rig to remove all stash nodes, so its more clear how whole stuff was created, preferably not on mesh that already have skeleton, but just on a test mesh.

well with a bit here and there u can make them looking somehow usefull
1. using own shape controls helps get rid of that fat thing
2. messing with parameters for viewer stage dialog (press P in viewport while scene animate node is active)
in my opinion, this should be the default display setup for everybody

Is it possible to use multiple scene animate nodes to layer animation?
i've tested this aproach, and it somehow works, but its so bugged (mostly due to viewport) and so annoying to use (switching display flags) that make its totally useless to even continue this way.
yes, i was looking for some kind of animation layers, but there is no single mention in official h20 presentations and noone talk abaout it in houdini hive, so i guess its not existing for now

eighter im doing something wrong or only disabling normal map from shader works.
anyway, its not very friendly for animators to even think that massive FPS drop is caused by loading a normal map (which happens automaticly if they follow even official sideFx tutorials )
edit: i didnt recognized that MikkT is an option in tangentu, i thought its a someones nickname , it seems to work with tangentU and normal map loaded

from artist point of view its quite confusing, if its for performance then i understand this, but if its just to inform that its houdini mesh, icon would be more than enough.
on side note automatic refine on timer doesnt work when you have realtime turned off in viewport

hi,
im doing some houdini animation rnd and tutorials, but what im experiencing is very poor performance whenever i have even simple setup with bone/joint deforms
and i've noticed that even on videotutorials people have no fps drops whenever manipulating the rig,
since its animation, output performance of houdini is very important
and im doing it on quite decent rig with ryzen 9 and 2070rtx on board
in case attachemnt doesnt work link is for dropbox quicktime movie

Houdini Engine for Unreal » different in shader before and after cook

hi, i'm a bit confused, double checked everything and seems valid, im using unreal material to assign materials in houdini, then putting HDA into unreal, and there is visible differnece inbetween shaders.
on the left its baked geometry, on the right is HDA,
even more strange behavior is when i hit bake, and then move baked geo to side the shader on HDA is as it suposse to be (but HDA icon is gone guess that means something)
and when i change any parameter on my HDA shader is gone wrong again

im currently learning my ways in houdini,
i just came a cross this project done by sidefx called the dawning, the presentations made on page are quite interesting especially for some enviro modeling techniques and scattering, tho on tutorial section there seems like missing links, are these tutorials somewhere avalible?
