Check the script from the create camera shelf tool. It has a ctrl-click feature where it creates a cam from the current perspective view. I'm sure there are clues in there..

That's pretty standard, expect between 1 and 5 minutes of overhead per task on any renderfarm solution.

It is not the case for older version pre H18.

EDIT:

This problem is solved by changing server's name to IP address.

The tool shelfs always at top cause extra mouse movement.

Did it work? I received a forum notification by mail, but it seems the message was deleted.

“Makes a slope linear” seemed has some bugs in 18.0.509.
Select first key frame may cause slope accel to NAN.

I have tested karma with a static empty scene. It still needs 70 seconds for 10 frames.
Because karma can second render in viewport, I guess it is husk or some other translation process that eats the time.

Hi,

I'll render previz by opengl rop. I need matte all objects to isolate main actor. But ogl rop hasn't “force matte” parameter.
Is there any method to matte out objects in ogl? If not, is there some simple way to set all matte objects to pure black in ogl?

Well mantra doesn't know that it should deliver a black image.
Whenn there is a camera and light in the scene it will try hard to create a masterpeace of a image. Even when it is a black image

But…. how much calculation is needed for the simple scene. It seemed that mantra is always waiting for something.

Hi,

I render a sequence for nothing(empty scene). But it is still slow(5-6 seconds per frame). The render is for a sequence. Mantra should not need to cold initialize for every frame. The CPU's usage is always below 10%.
What's the reason? Is it because of the windows 10 system?

The display flag is often changed while you are working on a scene and is not a robust way of indicating if an object should be hidden because you don't need it now but might need it in the future. It's probably better to adopt a naming scheme for such objects, e.g. using a prefix like “unused_”. This lets you write “unused_*” for the Exclude Objects param in the Mantra node to ensure that these objects are always ignored.

Hi,

I render an isolated object named “myobj” and force other displayed objects as matte. And there are also hidden objects in hierarchies(keep for future use).
The problem is if I give “* ^myobj” to Force Matte parm, all hidden objects become matte.
Is there any way to get all non-hidden objects at once?
