FYI that the'cleanup'
error is fixed in tomorrow's 17.0.500 build. I'm not sure if that will also fix the hanging/crashing problem but you can give tomorrow's build a try and see.

I haven't used Octane. But in you scene, the instance1 OBJ is not real instance. The internal geometry is just plain polygon.

Hi,
I see update shader ball icon is very slow and cause UI keep freezing.
About 1 minutes are eaten by only updating several shader balls icon.
I don't think much cpu time is really needed for this simple rendering.
Anyone knows the reason?

Output Selection Group
The name of a group to use as the output selection. When the highlight flag is enabled for this node, this group will be the output selection used by later modeling tools (if it exists).

I received a response from Silvina and was told to hover over selected axis, middle button then use the sliders to constrain the rotation.
But this is not snap. I have same experiences for RFE that is just be given an work around without record RFE.

Nevermind. The 8-bit character Windows API functions don't support UTF-8, so it's a big change to get everything in Houdini to support UTF-8 filenames on Windows. Everything that calls into Windows to access files needs to convert to UTF-16 first. Linux may work better for non-ASCII character sets, since they went straight to UTF-8, instead of UTF-16. The font may also be an issue, but fixing that won't improve much on Windows.

I find the non Ascii file name is just have promblem for DISPLAY not for function.
I can select the file that display blank and them worked well.
Since Houdini UI has been transfered to QT, all unicode thing is OK except displaying file name. Maybe there is some simple method to fix it?

it sounds like your meshes are 180 “units” tall in application A and when they come into Houdini that are 180 “units” tall = 180 meters.
go inside the Geo node and MMB on the file SOP, that will tell you the units of your mesh…
A global scale is really needed for matching between a tall man and a baby.
