crash when trying to collide moving geo with pyro

I am trying to collide moving geo with a pyro sim and I get the following in the console:

I have too possible wonderings about this, in my limited Houdini imagination.

1. The .bgeo files are too big for my system? each about 170 megabytes

or 2. The geo is exploding and some of it moves VERY VERY fast. Could this mess up the pyro solver?
