Anyone know how to export an obj sequence running the trial version?

use ROP Output Driver (in SOP's)

set Valid Frame Range: Render Frame Range
set Output File: your_folder_path/filename_$F.obj

hit Render

under ROP (/out) there is the Geometry ROP that works the same just you can set the path to the geo.

btw: this nodes will work on any houdini version inclusive the apprentice one.

After trying this it seems to calculate all the frames but when I import into c4d there is no animation. Any ideas.

made a simple test export hip file.

do you use for the obj sequence import in cinema4d a plugin?
