Hi , I spent almost an hour trying by ANY mean to have Houdini simply reload some textures without having to restart it …. and that's a big fail.
I tried almost everything :
textcache -c -C
glcache -c
opcook …
opupdate
menu : render/update textures
shelf tool : Textures/Clear Texture Cache
All my texture files are on a NAS, would that be the source of my problem ?
Reloading Textures, what's the problem ?!

Yes, unfortunately the texture cache is a pain, I always have to restart Houdini to propper update texture changes!
I hope that it gets fixed soon.
Cheers!

Doudini
texcache -c
glcache -c
this seems to work on linux and reloads textures.
'Render > Update Textures' executes both those commands, so it's equivalent. H15 was patched twice for texture updates:
Houdini 15.0.396: Textures in actively use by the viewport are now invalidated by Update Textures (glcache -c)
Houdini 15.0.284: ptex textures are cleared when the texture cache is cleared (texcache -c)
