Hi there,

Just found out you could use an external editor for code and I was keen to try it out with Sublime. Only problem is I cant seem to get it to work
I tried setting this in the houdini.env file -

but I just get nothing when I press the external editor button…
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Pete

the Sublime Text app isn't an application - it's a weird mac folder thingy…
try something like this: /Applications/Sublime\ Text.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/subl

Damn!, I had no luck getting this to work.

It does stop Text edit from opening though so it is doing something.
But really don't worry I can live with the build in editor, just thought I'd give it a try.

Opps sorry, I did try that too, with show package contents and still no luck.

And that is where it lives if you show the package contents so I'm not sure…

Were you able to get this working? Or using another external editor altogether?

I got Atom working, but saving makes Houdini lock up.

No, sorry
I might give it another try with VScode or something, I'd really love to have that option. Some of my scripts get pretty big and these code editors are just great to work with compared to the standard option.
