Constructing a child-parent hierarchy

Hey-
Am trying to do some fracture using a simple voronoi and putting the resulting shards into separate groups/objects, wrapping it in a HDA and trying to fracture objects using Houdini Engine in 3ds Max.

So for further processing I need to end up with individual objects in a hierarchy structure in Max.
e.g. something along the lines of this-
DummyRoot
|-- Object
|   |-- Child Object
|
|-- Object
|   |-- Child Object
|   |-- Child Object

The exact hierarchy might look a little different but basically the question is-

A- which is the best way to get the resulting shards to be individual objects in 3ds Max?

B- how can I build my digital asset so that Houdini Engine constructs a hierarchy for me in 3ds Max?
