Hi i have the houdini apprentice license and i would like to install the redshift on it. I have been looking tutorials and reading some posts but i can not find my houdini.env folder. It is not on the folder of my Houdini and i dont know why.
Do I need to ¡buy houdini in order to be able to see that .env folder?

Thank you.

houdini.env is a config file inside your Documents/houdini18.0 folder.
( If it's not there, then just start Houdini and it will create everything )

But you won't be able to use RedShift with Houdini Apprentice though, since 3rd Party Rendering is not supported:

to expand on blackpixels post: if you did a “normal” install of windows and Houdini you will find env file at C:\USERS\your account name\DOCUMENTS\HOUDINI18.0

it will be in that root directory

And i think I did a normal instalation, but as you can see, my ENV file is not there.
Maybe it does not appear on the apprentice license.

You can check the “Help” menu -> “About Houdini” -> “Show Details” -> Make the window bigger and scroll down to environment.
These are your active env variables for your current Houdini session.
There should be a HOUDINI_USER_PREF_DIR, which is where the treasure is hidden.
