If you wish to use Houdini with a lot of computer-power without big capital investments, can we learn AWS to do so?
And if we do, how should we go about doing so? If we take a general AWS course (or AWS exam preparation course) you get all kinds of information and I don’t know if all of it is necessary for Houdini. And on top of that I imagine that there may be some very specific things which would be useful to know if using it for Houdini.
Is this the case or is just taking a normal AWS course good enough?
I wish to use it for everything: for working in Houdini viewport and tweaking my actual scene/work real fast, for simulation, file caching (storage) and rendering (deadline).
How to go about learning it? Any tip or guidance?
Thanks in advance,
Learn AWS (Amazon Web Services) for Houdini

If your goal is just to be able to simply "work" faster without much investment I'm skeptical. After finding out the cost for simply placing a powerful server in a data center I eventually simply sold it.
Could you tell me how much the monthly cost would be for a single machine with the following specs would be?
Intel 32 Core machine (HT or not)
64 GB RAM (DDR4)
Nvidia RTX 2080
You would also need to consider the costs for licenses (obviously), not only for Houdini but all commercial apps.
That said, I do know "how to" and do use VNC frequently and successfully for remote access. That is partly because I like to be able to use a completely silent computer rather than a noisy one.

Interested in Houdini pipelines (networks, servers), CFX, animation, ZBrush integration, tool developement, Py, VEX.

For rendering there is a nice script around.
