Shader Building in Houdini - Couch Leather
After seeing all the amazing materials created with Substance Designer, I wanted to achieve something similar, but using Houdini and Mantra.
Houdini's different patterns, noise functions, UV transformations etc. and the fast displacement by Mantra made it really fun to play around.
My reference was a substance material by Matthias Schmidt: artstation.com/artwork/ZOozm
The additional geometry I used for the top and bottom of the pillar-like structure are parts of this open source shaderball: github.com/derkreature/ShaderBall
