I don't have much experience with FBX files, so I'm hoping someone here can help. I have a particle system with instanced geometry with each instance having a unique color. When I write out this out the color attribute is missing. I've tried forcing it to be a vertex color, making sure to set the attribute specifically as color (ala Alembic), just letting the color be interpreted by Houdini, etc. Static meshes exported through the same network have the color layer in it. Changing point counts (I've read that fbx files don't really like this), seems to break the color attribute. Does anyone know how to force the color attribute to be exported? Thanks in Advance. I've also tried exporting this to maya and then from maya to fbx to no avail. Ultimately I'm trying to get this into Motion Builder, which is working fine just without the color. We use MoBu as a realtime playback system, here, so this is all very hacky and not what it was intended for, but it's what we have.
