[Sidefx-houdini-list] Sample points on a image>use it drive rotations
Friday, 21 April 2006 Fri, 21 Apr '06
I have a grid with planes copied onto it. I want to rotate those planes based on a black and white image mapped on to the plane. So, if the underlying image is white I want the object to be face up. If it changes to black, I want the plane to rotate (over a certain number of frames) so it is face down. I was thinking of doing it as a simple expression on the rotY of the copy op. the stumbling block for me is I don't know how to set up the image sequence to get the color value at the point that copy is on. Can anyone give me a quick run down on how to do this? Thanks!
