Along the same lines as Ben, instead of creating a duplicate object, you can make object groups and then in the scripts section of the Output ROP, set the flags you want on or off based on groups before each frame, and then setting them back again when the frame is done. It makes for a little less clutter in your network, but it does require you to go and look at the scripts to figure out what you were doing before. Not necessarily better, just a different way of doing the same thing. Like I always tell people, there's usually about 3-4 ways of doing the same thing in Houdini.Hey Dave! I like that one -- Yes to less clutter! Def. Unfortunately, as you say, the cost is script-complexity. In comparison, making another object might be less prone to "breakage in the next release" - which is something that happens to old scripts. And it's simple. I like simple! ;-) BTW, I agree it's good to have several ways of doing something, sure, but I am beginning to change my mind on _how_ good this is. eg: In preference, I am beginning to believe one REALLY-GOOD way beats 3-4 ways. cheers, ben. __________________________________________________________ Ben Simons Physics Building, A28, VisLab Systems Manager The University of Sydney.
