Hey Steve, I deleted the file that was reported in the error message and also the entire Houdini dir. I have also done searches on my c drive for anything related to Houdini and deleted it. Although I can't be sure I got everything. This has got me completely baffled. All the best, MarkHi Mark Bad one. If you are on NT or win2k and you feel brave you could hack the registry and strip out any references to Houdini, Sidefx and SESI. try it again. If no good, try previous version of Houdini. If no good, suspect memory as being dud and try one stick at a time. If no good, format everything and get a new computer. Jerry
