[Sidefx-houdini-list] Render speed - quantization bit depth

That is interesting. I?ll need to check that out in more detail. Thx. On this same topic of post render options ? has anyone had any experience/luck with up res solutions like this https://www.redgiant.com/products/instant-4k/ <https://www.redgiant.com/products/instant-4k/> It was recommended to me by a compositor friend while we were exploring solutions for a potential non-broadcast/non-feature project that required 4K deliverables. 4K renders can really stress the resources of a small studio, so it intrigued me. However, I was skeptical. Unfortunately I haven?t had a chance to test it out yet. Larry

Most of the time it worked great, but the usual rule of '10% of shots took 90% of the time to denoise' applied. :) The revision folk have been working on a denoiser specifically for renderers, might be worth a look. I helped them a little bit early on in the pre-alpha (mainly explaining the sort of problems we face in cg and giving them some example scenes), but haven't had time to check it out since it was released. http://revisionfx.com/products/denoise/ On 11 March 2016 at 00:35, Larry Giunta <larry at gcreativestudios.com> wrote: > hmm ?
