I remember using Prisms for Titanic. One day, Prisms just started crashing across the board. No one could start it. I immediately got my mailbox flooded with complaints, demanding that I revert the prisms binary to the version from the day before, but I hadn't updated it in weeks. It just stopped working! So I started editing the startup script, writing to stdout, trying to figure out which part was hanging up. But then it started up perfectly! So I just left in the debugging messages and told everyone to continue working. There's more voodoo involved in production software than you think. --- mark m <markmulli(a)bigpond.com> wrote:
