It's working for me without promoting , once u add Pop color if you click on your pop network u will see it has Cd attribute

Hi sorry for the late reply, I think it depends what kind of material you are tying to do?

I find Tim tutorial on YouTube very easy to follow give it a try, let me know if you want to do a specific material setup
