How can I create and HDA that allows the creation of different rooms? March 20, 2019, 6:28 a.m.

Hey guys I'm fairly new to houdini only a couple of weeks playing with it, my goal for the project is to be able to create a tool for the level designer that allows him to block out different connecting rooms fairly easily, and then for me to create the pieces in other 3d package like blender and being able to replace the geometry on the houdini digital asset.

The goals.

1)Having the points of the curve in unreal to always snap to a 2 meters wide increment.

2)Being able to create a close room and then expand from any point of the curve by making a new extrusion that doesn't change the shape of the points that are already there. example

3)Being able to replace the geometry for modular pieces

-So let break this goals for the first one I tried resampaling the curve with a length of 2 I think this works but there has to be also a min value that is always 2.

-For the creating room I researched different ways to do it, but it seems like the only valid option I found was the “lsystem” which is way too confusing for a beginner to set out the correct rules for the system to create connecting rooms

-Replacing the pieces I think could be done by copy to points and assigning the right modular pieces.

the final result should be a mix of this two concepts

A video explaining the room system that I want to create

I'm also going to post the hip file so that you guys can see the progress or point out the mistakes I'm making
