Houdini for the New Artist II is the ideal course to help you develop your skills past a beginner level.  Moving beyond the beginner level means that you'll be able to think independently (without always relying on copying tutorials) and understand what it takes to make awesome, professional looking renders.

The course focuses on production-based challenges rather than a collection of tips and tricks.  Doing small exercises can be a good thing!  However, production-based learning is also needed to build a strong demo reel and prepare you for real world challenges.  By the end of the course, you'll be able to meet these challenges much more easily with the skills to put together your own shots and stand out with beautiful renders.

Houdini for the New Artist II is also interactive.  As you're watching, challenges and additional resources will be offered that require you to work on your own.  This means that you'll be going back-and-fourth between watching videos and gaining hands-on practice that becomes increasingly difficult as you go through the course.  Plus, if you ever get stuck, CG Forge can help in a variety of ways through mentorship calls, a Q&A discord channel, and course forums that are checked daily.  For more info, be sure to visit the course by clicking the "Visit Course" button above.

Thanks for watching!

I’m refusing to buy an Intro to Houdini course that uses a third party renderer. Is there a reason why the tutorials don’t use Karma?

Hey Luke, if you visit the course page, I made a video explaining why Redshift is being used instead of Karma. If you haven't done so yet, check that out and shoot me a message if you have any other questions.

Other than that this course looks pretty amazing.

Using a third party render engine is a no go for me too.
