The thruster exhaust shelf tool consists of multiple Pyro Thruster Exhaust nodes that are layered together to create a more complex looking thruster. This shelf tool doesn’t use any simulations. The thruster elements and sparks come from the
Pyro Thruster Exhaust nodes.
Important Nodes ¶
pyrothrusterexhaust1
The pyrothrusterexhaust1 node generates long exhaust rays with soft falloff, and is also responsible for generating spark particles.
pyrothrusterexhaust2-4
These nodes generate shorter and more detailed exhaust rays.
pyrothrusterexhaust5
This node generates another long exhaust ray with more contrast and broader shapes.
pyrothrusterexhaust6
This node generates occasional bursts used to add fast fire streaks.
Understanding Thruster Exhaust ¶
To... | Do this |
---|---|
Increase the resolution of the thruster |
Adjust Voxel Size parameter on the General tab on any of the Pyro Thruster Exhaust nodes. |
Change the size of the thruster |
Adjust Length parameter on the General tab on any of the Pyro Thruster Exhaust nodes. |
Introduce breakup into the thruster |
Turn on the Noise and/or Distortion parameters on the Exhaust tab on any of the Pyro Thruster Exhaust nodes. |
Change the animation speed of the thruster |
Adjust the Speed parameter on the Exhaust tab on any of the Pyro Thruster Exhaust nodes. |
Change the amount of sparks |
Adjust the Point Count parameter on the Particles tab on the pyrothrusterexhaust1 node, which is responsible for generating the spark particles. |
