Sorry for this question, because I am sure it is simple. I have an alembic cache which I animated, I copy and pasted to a timeshift, I then deleted the channel in the alembic Frame, and change to $F. The timeshift animation channel works fine, but it does not show on the timeline (as keys) nor in the animation editor. I just want a direct copy not a link to the original.
thanks

for direct copy you can use Paste Expressions/Channels instead of Paste * References

Thanks,
I simplified the setup to see if I was crazy.
2 cubes, I animated 1 cube in y direction, 2 keyframes.
I copy parameter on animated cube, and paste expression/channels on 2nd cube.
I delete the 1st animated cube, cube 2 is animated as expected, ONLY, I don't see the keyframes on the timeline/playback area, nor do I see the animated channel when I open the animation editor.
thanks

which channels get added to channel list upon selection depends on several factors depending on preferences:
- by default only channels with Auto-Add enabled will be added to channel list
you can enable Auto-Add on parameters through RMB/Channels/Auto-Add
- alternatively, you can enable other options in preferences/animation, like Add parameters With Animation, etc
- you can also press V to add all animated channels from selected node regardless of prefs
