Full Version: Smart keyframe baking for cycled animation

Hi,
I have a walkcycle from 0 - 38 Frames.
The channels are set to cycle.
Now I would like to extend the animation for 200 Frames.
Bake keyframe at selectd segments creates a keyframe for every frame.
But this makes the animation hard to edit.
If I Reduce keyframe at selectd segments the animation is altered.

Is ther a way to smart bake so that only the original keys are baked?

In Maya:
Smart Bake
When on, limits the number of keyframes generated during the bake process by placing keyframes only at times where the baked animation curves have keyframes.

Cheers
Christian

I think the alternate way to do this is select the first/last keys on the playbar (or dopesheet) via Shift+LMB drag, Ctrl+C to copy, then select the entire region where you want to cycle, hit B to cycle paste with your mouse over the playbar. To do a cycle with offset, hit C instead of B.

Thanks Edward, works perfectly
