Just got this great new machine from a friend. When I load the apprentice version of Houdini, I get a license request. I've already spent a lot of time setting this machine up, so if there's a way to back out the old retail license without format c:, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks!

the keys are (in Windows) in WINNT/keys
but you might want to contact SESI support directly…

Hi Dreamshadow,

May I know what graphics card are you using? Have you tried downloading the latest drivers?

The problem you have with the Houdini License Administrator indicates a graphics card issue.

If the machine is not connected to the internet, you will have to obtain the Non-Commercial license manually by going to this link [license.sidefx.com].

After obtaining your license, you can install it using the Houdini License Administrator.

Please let us know how it goes.

Cheers!
