Hi,
Is it possible to “cut & paste” the numbers of faces selected in the viewport into a group? I am trying to go this to put the face numbers into the Group parameter a material (so different materials render on different faces.

thanks,
Fred

If I understand correctly, all you need to do is select your faces (primitives) in the viewport, then with the mouse over the viewport type tab, then “group”. When you put down your group sop, it will have your primitives selected in it.

Perfect! The thing that was throwing me was that the Operation was defaulting to “Group by Expression”, but after switching it to “Group by Pattern” it used my selected primitives.

many thanks,
Fred
