Is there a way to resample a curve, but add a bias so that more points are added as you reach one end or the other?
Can you use expressions in the Resample SOP's length variable?

Thanks,

Not sure about expressions ($PT seems to be not valid), but you can post-process geometry after resampling in chops. See the example.

One thing I noticed, spline chop which I used to manually shape the bias doesn't save in hip file on my h9.5.189. This is possibly a bug. You can toggle in “Compute knots” on it and redo a spline or shape an index channel in other way though (like square of linear channel).

hope this helps,

Thanks Sy! That definitely works. Now I need to break it down and understand everything that's happening in there.

I'll have to submit a bug over that Spline CHOP…
One nice thing about Houdini though, pretty swift response on the bug fixes

It would be nice to understand how the Resample SOP was going about it's business. I could pipe in $FF into the length variable, so it can take some expressions.

just talkin' no idea if it would work…
but you could try a ramp > scatter points > add SOP?

Just checked and this bug doesn't occur on Ubuntu x64 H9.5.191.
