Often these forums tend to glow with negativity and problems, so just to lighten the board up, I'd like to say that I'm 100% satisfied with Houdini.
Just got some funds on my not so cash populated bank account, and registered for the Apprentice HD.
Wow, man! No more warez, no more bad feelings and not being able to contact customer support! For me, that's worth something.
I think Side Effects have awesome licensing policies. Sure, you're bound to .hipnc files in the end of your work flow but, hey!, there's lots of possibilities in between!
I figure, if I ever get really good at this, I would not have to pay for licenses myself anyway!
The “starving artists edition” is just perfect for a student like myself, as my funds are not top notch. Houdini is top notch.
