Hello,

I am lightwave user but bought houdini for Torque Game Engine exporter and been playing with houdini for couple of days.

There are couple of things that I really miss from Lightwave that I am not even sure if Houdini has it or not.

1. In lightwave, you can select a point and polygon, and press “]” to select connected points or polygon. Is there similar feature like that in houdini? I have imported a single geometry file from lightwave but body and head is separte polygon. I just wanna select head polygon but I cannot seem to find any way to just select the head polygon. In lightwave I just select single poly and hit “]” and boom!

2. Second question is kinda related to the first one… Is there any “hide” feature? Lets say example, you select polygon, but you want that out of the way to help selecting other points… How do I hide that while I work on other stuff and unhide it when all done?

I have played with houdini for couple of days, and really impressed by features and capabilities… still learning…

I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

In order to select connected geometry, you can hit 0 while selecting. This can also be toggled on/off in the Geometry Select Mode menu on the left hand toolbar.

As for hiding geometry you can select your geometry and use the Visibility Sop. You can then add another one later and set it to expose the primitives again.
