so that I can match the animation to the music.

You want to use a file CHOP to bring the audio in, enable it's audio flag, and set your time slider to playback realtime. Then open the audio panel, set it to Time Line and enable the audio CHOP or the specific CHOP you want to use. I've had the best luck using .aiff for an audio format, rather than .wav, and I don't think Houdini supports mp3.

Hi

I don't think houdini supports mp3. You can import audio .wav or .aiff in the CHOPS editor using a file CHOP. There's a MIDI IN chop for .midi files

Be sure to check Main Menu -> Window -> Audio Panel -> Time Line to enable audio playback

Also make sure you set the green audio flag for the CHOP ypu want to hear

HEY! I'm not able to load any audio files myself!!!

Keep getting “ Error: Loading from stream Failed (ref: (null)) ”
“file not found”

Running 6.1.38 on RH9

What's going on here?!?

Was it a wav file? I have yet to successfully load a wav into Houdini. I use aiff, output from audacity or Soundforge, they work fine.
tallkien
yup wav not working
aiff is fine

This was not an issue in 5.5, Any other Linux users with similar probs?

Strange
