Hello All,

Anyone have any idea as to the steps to get Houdini of my system (Redhat 8.0)?

Also, I keep getting this error when running hkey

Seems like my license server is not running and sesinetd is not running either.

Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You don't need to do anything special to uninstall Houdini on Unix systems, just delete the directory it was installed into (/usr/hfs5.5 or wherever you installed it). The license tools are in /usr/lib/sesi and there is a script installed to /etc/init.d that you can delete or leave, it doesn't hurt anything to leave it.
In your diagnostic, there is no license server running, which means that you either didn't install the license tools (check in /usr/lib/sesi) or it's not starting for some reason. If it's not starting, try re-installing the license tools.
Please note that Redhat 8.0 is not yet certified for use with Houdini, we have had reports of problems.

Thnks Peter for the tip.I still have to get used to the fact that I am not in Windows and I dont need to go to a control panel to remove programs. I finally got it working on Redhat 8.0 (after much stress and a very late night). So now its time to see how it performs in the long run.
