Hey sidefx

If I write my custom GUI for Houdini via tcl/tk, what kind of limitation will I likely to run into? Say, if I create a sliderbar in my custom GUI to control a color field, will the value be updated instantly or will I have to hit “Apply” button in my custom GUI to update the info in Houdini's OPs?

(My apology, I am new to tcl/tk world here…)

Much Thanks!

Dude try using Python with Tcl/Tk that language is really easy to use and no other language can handle the mathematics natively like python except Fortran. Python is OOP and very good for 3D and runs on every OS and Platform. Plus Python Works directly in with Tcl/Tk. I have not been coding in Houdini yet so I could not tell you. Will be though sometime this semester. So I will be more help in your questions in the future. To get info on how to program with python and how to get python, go to www.python.org [python.org]

Cheers,
