Using the select tool we can select using '3D Connected Geometry' and 'Named attribute' and my question is how can I recreate that behviour procedurally. I have a bunch of fractured pieces and I want to use a bounding volume to select entire pieces and not just the primitives within it. In the screen shot I am using a selection drag box to show how I would like to select the pieces and the bounds volume (blue box) is how I was trying to do it with a group node.

Two ways come to my mind.
You could either use an "assemble" node after the voronoi fracture and create packed primitives.
This way Each Piece is only selectable as a whole.

Or you use a "group expand" node after your group node. Feed in your group name and enable "Flood fill to connected Geometry".

Hi CYTE, thanks for the quick response, you saved me some hours on my current deadline, its exactly what I needed

In case anyone else is curious:

Add an assemble node, tick Create Packed Primitives
Add a Group node, set Group Type: Points
In Base Group uncheck Enable
In Keep in Bounding Regions tick Enable and set the bounds as required.
