Hello,
it looks like the mute/unmute channel or keys won't work with APEX Scene Animate node.Can anyone confirm this?

Hi, I can confirm that this is not working as expected at the moment. It shows as muted in the animation editor but the underlying channel primitive is not muted. Would you mind submitting a bug for this? Thanks!

Has this ever been resolved? Just ran into the same problem and was wondering if I missed something?

It seems to be still buggy, I run into a situation where I wanted to duplicate the base animation, to mute it and remove it from the base layer, but I couldn't mute it, but also I couldn't delete any of the layers afterwards

I submitted a bug for this after posting here last time. No idea if it has been resolved yet.

This is current limitation because the channels here used in APEX are geometry channels, which don't currently have the ability for muting keys. The bug here in H21 is that one is still presented with the menu option to mute keys when it should be disabled.

@maxmax003 your problem sounds different though because you're talking muting animation layers, not keys. That is not a known issue so please submit a bug with reproducible steps for that.
