If I use a heightfield visualise COP the Scene view of the heightfield is on the X-Y plane -ie: Z 'up'.
How can I get it to be 'Y up' - as you would expect a heightfield to be?

their is a transform 3D node in copernicus , maybe you could just rotate 90 in X ??

sounds like you are making a map with cops.. This video I watched the other day my have some useful information for you.

Thanks both.
Yes, I'd tried transform 3D, but it flattens the height visualization.
Will watch the video asap.

I watched the video too (just to know) as i understood you got to do this ;
..or maybe their is a better solution !?

OK guys - thanks for the input - I'm putting this down to a 'Copernicus glitch'...
I opened the same file this morning - and the heightfield visualise showed on the X-Z plane (Y up) as expected! It was definitely stuck on X-Y (Z up) yesterday. Bizarre!

from my understanding Cop's is just a procedural texture generator so should just be able to project its details on the heightfield the same as a heightfield texture would. the Sidefx team may of missed something while creating it, so would be worth keeping an eye on any strange issues. Also I find user error could also be a factor with new systems as it is easy to miss selections like the x-z plane while screaming "why won't it work?" lol.
"Benjamin Lemoine" looks right using the heightfield layer node to add the copnet. I guess you could also try heightfield project?

Just to clarify: the 'wrong projection' issue I was having was within Copernicus itself, it wasn't an issue piping it back out to SOPs.

Hey! I believe this is the issue you are facing. For now Viewport gets a bit confused if you 3d transform your height in Copernicus, I believe this is a known bug. The simplest fix to that is to just restart your viewport or use Labs->Reset Viewport. Hope that helps and have fun!
this is a bit confusing overall
since there is Plane parameter on COPnet SOP that when set to ZX visualizes Heightfield correctly when viewed in SOPs, but diving into the COPnet it visualizes it as XY
if Transform 3D is involved, then it can be seen as ZX inside of COPs, but then outside it gets rotated even more, so Plane set to ZX doesn't make sense anymore
