Hello

I just downloaded the apprentice version of houdini's software package….so far it opens and runs fine…but when I close my application….it gives me a pop up error saying:

(The instruction at 0x40a00000 referenced memory at 0x40a00000. The momory could not be “read”.)

Help? What does this mean? Why is it doing that? Thanks in advance

I can't help, but I can tell you I also get those same errors when closing Houdini often, and it hasn't affected my using the software, so I just ignore them. I posted something about it here a while ago, and no one commented on it either.

I get errors like that also…

Not sure why, it's happened ever since 4.1, sometimes I close Houdini, and unless I do a ‘File New’ before I close, it crashes on me, and I have to kill it via task manager.

It's happened in W2K, and XP. I currently use XP.

I wish it would stop doing that!

I think it has something to do with memory allocation(or whatever it's called)
Because of some crappines in Windows, Houdini can't clear the memory it was using while it was ran, hence, you get this error.
I've had these a while ago but it never gave me any trouble other than I had to make one more mouse click.
Still. It shouldn't be this way!
I think a part of a memory becomes unavailable to the system because of this.
