I am trying to use the clone control panel but it is giving me an error:

MESSAGE SEND ERROR(clone1) ws://127.0.0.1:36871/clone Msg='""' Error='"Broken pipe"'

Any tips?

Could you post your OS / license type / version numbers / etc?

Is Karma able to start up okay otherwise? I remember seeing issues with Apprentice limit-resolution and such.
jsmack
Could it be due to firewall interference?

-Fedora 39
-Apprentice
-Build 547

I did try both Karma XPU and CPU.

And yes Karma is working normally in CPU and XPU on normal renders.

I turned it off, I will try to restart and try again.

No luck so far even with the firewall off.

Does anyone has any tips for this?

I am using:
-Fedora 40
-Aprendice 20.5 build 370
-Kernel 6.11
-Nvidia Driver 560.35

Sometimes it works but most of the times I got this error

"MESSAGE SEND ERROR(clone1) ws://127.0.0.1:36515/clone Msg='""' Error='"Operation canceled"'"

I'm sorry, I have not seen this myself. And nobody else is chiming in here so I assume it's not a terribly common problem. That's going to make it tough to track down...

By the IP address I'm assuming this is a local clone you are creating? Have you got any unusual plugins running in Houdini, or is this basically a vanilla installation?
mzigaib
I am using Labs, qlib and MOPs nothing too unusual.
The thing is that it seems I need to point exactly the node I am rendering then it works but if I just point to the stage sometimes it works sometimes it does not but it is hard to pinpoint exactly what the problem is when the log jus says "Operatin Canceled".
I will keep my eyes to see if I got any more unusual behavior.

Thanks for the feedback.

Having the same exact issue. Did you ever get this resolved?
mzigaib
It got working on my newest installation of newer buildsbut I am not sure what was causing it, if it is a bug or something on my machine, unfortunately.

Does anyone knows what this error means on clone control in the log viewer?

The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request

Any tips?

I am on Windows 11 by the way.
