I have previously used Houdini engine in maya with no problems a while back, so am not sure what the problem currently is. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin just in case. When I load my HDA with the Maya Houdini engine plugin I get this error from the maya script editor.

// Error: Could not instantiate asset: Benjamin::Sop/test::1.0

If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Ben

Please try disabling mtoa in the plugin manager and see if that fixes it.
