Brigham Young University offers two degrees in the area of Animation. We offer a BFA in Animation and a BS Animation Emphasis degree in Computer Science. Each year, the senior class creates a five minute animated short in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

Students from the Animation major, Illustration, Media Arts, Computer Science and others work for the entire year on one or two animated short films. These films have won numerous awards including Student Academy Awards, College Television Awards, and awards from film festivals around the world.

Their most recent award is for our 2012 short, “Estefan”, winning the 2012 Siggraph Computer Animation Festival Award for “Best Student Project.” We have been honored to be able work closely with studios like Pixar, Sony, and Disney who have mentored our students in their efforts on these projects.
