If it's not on the list then it's not “officially” supported, but should be just fine. In using a 670M and 765M, I've had more or less the same experience as a Quadro 600; I use Linux though, and most (all?) of the little glitches and such seemed to be driver/OS related. Like viewport and/or UI getting corrupted if the screensaver turns on.
Again, my experience is Linux-centric, but I imagine that you should be alright.
The biggest rules of thumb is AMD + Linux/OSX = Pain, and it's all because of driver support by AMD/Apple respectively. Hopefully that changes.
AMD cards make great compute cards, you can always tell Houdini to use an AMD card for compute, and leave the Nvidia one to drive your display; Houdini uses OpenCL, not CUDA.

I'm o.d.d.

Is the Quadro M3000M supported by Houdini? Thank you.
Yes, all Quadro M and Quadro KM GPUs are supported by Houdini (down in the “mobile GPU” section of the supported graphics card page http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2680&Itemid=390 [sidefx.com])
