Instanced lights and bundles

Any one that is using bundles had any success in managing instanced lights?

My scenes are basically composed of:

props geometry (@geo_props)
prop lights (@lights_props)
characters (@geo_chars)
characters lights (@lights_chars)

For this specific environment, I have hundreds of street light that I'm using instancing. Unfortunately the instanced lights react more like objects than actual lights.

What I mean is, I don't want the characters lights to affect the props and vice versa. For that I use light mask with bundles, but the only way for the instanced lights to affect the props geometry is to not use any light mask at all. If I use * in the light mask field the instanced lights affect the geometry. If I try something like * ^@lights_chars, the instanced lights that are not even a part of any bundle already stop working.

If I try to create @lights_instanced and use it on a object light mask, I still don't get any result.

Kind of confusing, I know, but has anyone tried something like this? Instanced lights and light bundles?

Do you lighting with categories then it would negate the need to use bundles.
