WinXP 8.1.704 and 8.1.746

1) Is there any way to customize the “Load From” (open file) dialog so that the dialog box size is approximately the height of the screen … instead of the teeny-weeny box that only displays 10 files at a time ? :x

2) Is there a way to make that same dialog default to $HOME ? (instead of c:\documents and settings …..)

I have setup a HOME enviornment variable in the windoze Control Panel, and Houdini is recognizing it, it's just that the “load dialog” defaults to “nothing” in the “jump” tab.

1) Not that I know of. At least it's resizeable though.
2) The only way I know of to do that is to right-click on the Start menu item and choose Properties. In the “Start in:” parameter, change it to be %HOME%. Click OK. Restart Houdini.

@2 from 50 handy houdini hints:

To do this, create a file called jump.pref and place it in your $HOME/houdini8.1 directory.
The line should contain one path per line.
Each path will show up in the jump menu the next time you start Houdini.
Example jump.pref contents:
$JOB/Images
$JOB/Hips

Thanks for the tip.

I tried that, didn't make any difference
